Irene Gitangu

Irene Wanjiku Gitangu is an Executive Manager – Operations and Grants – at @iLabAfrica Research Centre Strathmore University. Irene holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Information Technology from Strathmore University and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of Nairobi. She possesses five years of project management experience and has built her career in a variety of operations, project management and grants management roles.

Irene is passionate about empowering young adults in STEM related courses. She currently manages the Autism Tech Training Program which is a unique training program for young adults on the Autism Spectrum and others with learning disabilities and seeks to equip them with IT skills.

She is also one of the co-founders of FemTechies – a unit dedicated towards creating awareness, connecting and empowering the next generation of women leaders in Information Technology through mentorship and digital skills development.
