Richard Otolo

Mr. Otolo is the manager of the IT security research department @iLabAfrica research Centre-Strathmore University.  He holds a master’s degree in Mobile Telecommunications and a double degree in Telecommunications and Electrical Engineering.

Additionally, He holds numerous certifications in various technology domains such as cyber security, distributed ledgers and artificial intelligence.

Mr. Otolo has over 5 years’ experience in IT projects having worked with companies in Kenya, Rwanda and Tanzania.

His department was recently awarded a grant by the Kenya Education Network (KENET) to research into how blockchains can be applied in education. They were also invited to present to the blockchain taskforce constituted by Joe Mucheru, the Cabinet Secretary, for ICT in the Government Kenya.
